So today, I am off to seattle for the wedding of Alec Du Bois and Krista Kaab.
I am stoked beyond belief! These two are two of my favorite people in the whole world, and tomorrow, they tie the knot.
Also, this is the first time I’ve flown Delta in years and years. Typically, I avoid them at all costs, but for this trip, it’s what there was to fly. So this morning, I chose to take advantage of their frequent overbooking and incompetency. I volunteered to take a later flight in exchange for $400 Delta dollars, an upgrade to First Class for my second segment, and lots of meal vouchers.
Then. One hour later, the same thing. The flight they rebooked me on is overbooked too. BAM $400 more dollars, first class all the way, food out the wazoo (including drinks), and only 3 hours later. And then tonight will be amazing with Alec and Christa. Cannot. Wait.
So, essentially, I’m going to europe for free.
###EDIT I’m on standby for the earlier flight anyway, so I could actually still get there at 3 FBGM.
